Start with Him.

"Remain with me and I will remain with you." - John 15:4

How do you start your day? Do you start it by scrolling on social media, or maybe a cup of coffee or tea? Now, how do you feel by the end of the day? Probably drained from work or dealing with the kids all day.

If God were asking me how I felt by the end of day, I would probably go on a full rant about how my day went. I'd start with how the girl at the drive-thru had an attitude, and how my coworker tried to frame me for the mistake with the report. I'd also sigh as I went through all the things that I had to do at the house, but can't find any of the time to start.

I imagine God staring at me as I continued on and on till I ran out of words. When I was done ranting, He'd smile, and embarrassed, I'd ask, "So how was your day?"

"I waited for you."

I'd feel terrible and look down, when He looks at me and says, "I wish you would start your day with me. Tell me what is on your mind, and allow me to help you."

Have you every tried starting your day out by praying and reading your bible? Even if it's just for a few minutes. Try starting off your day with God, and watch as the things that were once a trouble to you seem to become a bit easier to handle.

One thing that I've learned through my walk with God is that He cares for all of your mundane things. He is passionate about your life, and He desires to be in every part of it.

When you take time to prioritize God first and foremost, He is gracious enough to aid us throughout our day.

Starting your day with God doesn't mean you have to wake up at 4 a.m. and read your Bible for an hour. It also doesn't mean giving up your "coffee time" to intently pray.

To start your day with God, you can pray and incorporate your coffee time too. What I prefer to do is begin brewing my pot of coffee, and as I wait for it to finish, I will read my Bible or pray.

Your time with God doesn't have to be elaborate or fancy. It can be simple, yet intentional.

Starting your day with God means that you are prioritizing God over everything else in your life. When you start to prioritize God over everything else, watch as he begins to help you and bless you throughout the day. Watch as your afternoons turn from a dread to a peace.
